Natural Design offers a complete service from the initial briefing through to project completion, ensuring design integrity is maintained and your brief is fulfilled. However, the design process can be structured in such a manner that you can dictate the level of detail your project requires, choosing all or engaging in only a few of the following stages:
The initial consultation is to discuss the brief, develop an understanding of the space and style required, and the project budget. We will collate your wish list and a vision is discussed. A fee proposal will then be presented for your approval.
During this stage, an analysis of the site is undertaken. The project site is measured and the existing conditions are noted. If it is a large or complicated site, a full survey will be undertaken by a specialist company. A design concept will be produced based upon the brief and will include a scaled CAD plan with a mood board which will incorporate a range of images of the features, finishes and planting within the space. Further review and refinement of the design will occur, if required, to complete the plan. Following this stage, we then move on to the Final Plan.
Once the design concept has been refined, we prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications for materials from which landscape contractors can base their quotations. This includes a specification of all materials, plants (showing placement of plant varieties, numbers and spacing and a planting schedule), irrigation, furniture and lighting, if desired. The design development documentation is presented to you for final approval. Once approved, a maintenance strategy is devised to preserve the integrity of the work.
Natural Design will help you select your contractor/s and administer the contract on your behalf, to give you peace of mind and ensure that the project remains within budget and on time. Once the landscaping is underway, we will manage the project to ensure the integrity of the final design is maintained.
Natural Design can assist in sourcing and selecting the plants for your completed design, setting them out accurately, and the physical planting of the plants. We work with a small selection of specialist trade plant nurseries to source the best possible plants.
